So today was one of the more... interesting challenges. The topic was "Frankenstein," which was kind of difficult, considering that I'm still not good at drawing adults yet. Looking at this, it seems that I'm not good at "long" clothing either - dresses and lab coats. Also, Frankenstein is the doctor that created the monster, but you couldn't get anyone to guess "Frankenstein" without drawing "Frankenstein's monster." We have April here as the doctor, because her hair is already kind of crazy enough to do that, and Sally has the monster and Molly as Igor.

The interesting thing about Frankenstein, which pretty much invented the science fiction novel, was written when the author Mary Shelley was 19 years old. Her husband did help her collaborate on the novel, but it's not known to the extent of which he helped. The general consensus is that he only did technical edits and clarified the narrative.

It's definitely impressive, and being able to do something "great" so young is one of the messages or the purposes of Growing Around. I know that the concept is really fanciful, but in the real world very young people can do impressive or interesting things. The youngest person to ever fly a plane, for instance, was five years old. You only need to be seventeen years old to get a private pilot's license in the United States, but you can start flight lessons at any age, and can fly solo at age 16.

Quite honestly, I think I'm in the mood to write that Halloween episode. It's only February, but what the heck. Any time is better than the middle of winter. I've got the most ideas for it, at least.

You should've drawn Frederick Frankenstein from Young Frankenstein.
