Mr. Enter's Notebook: New Kids on the Block by MrEnter Mr. Enter's Notebook: New Kids on the Block by MrEnter
Well, here's the other awful cartoon based on a musical act from the 90's, and WHY ARE THERE THREE OF THESE? From the 90's alone!? Why did everyone who managed to notch a hit song want their own terrible cartoon? This came out the exact same year as the Kid 'n Play cartoon. I haven't even watched... the Osmonds cartoon. Or the Jackson 5ive cartoon. But that's it from the 90's at least, I hope. I mean, at least in other mediums it makes a little bit more sense. I mean, the Jackie Chan cartoon can be in the same style as a Jackie Chan movie. But with music... well, considering that Class of 3000 exists, there's a way to do it.

This one doesn't even try. It may be of better quality than Hammerman and Kid 'n Play but it's probably the biggest cash in on the three of them. The entire show is "look how awesome we are." I mean, at least Hammerman went with this superhero idea. Fonz and the Happy Days Gang has more reason to exist than this. It wasn't good, but it was... something. I dunno, I think that if a celebrity was going to get their own cartoon, they'd I dunno, go with a more interesting idea. If you want to talk about yourself like this, make a documentary; not a cartoon.

You should have an entire month dedicated to celebrity based cartoons as there were a surprising amount of them back in the 80s and 90s. One that comes to my mind is Hulk Hogan's Rock'n'Wrestling.

For this April 20, at Columbine High School, model students Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold have helped plan an explosive party that’s sure to be fun for the whole family! First, we’ll have an informative assembly where they’ll be doing a guest speech about important topics such as gun safety and the new life-saving ALICE methods (Cassie Bernall and Rachel Scott will also be there to talk about the new local youth group program)! Refreshments will be provided, and after the assembly, we’ll go to the library and the cafeteria, where we’ll have tons of fun games and activities such as Hide and Seek, Play Dead, and Catch the Bomb! All teachers, parents, and students are invited! It’s sure to be a killer time!

It's now a relief that once I heard about shows I never heard of are bad, I'm convinced not to watch them.

I never watched Class of 3000 because the marketing really annoyed me. Before it actually premiered, they kept advertising it like it was already this big thing and everybody was already talking about it. Even though it hadn't come out yet. And I was like "BULLSHIT. I'VE NEVER HEARD OF THIS SHOW, AND I'VE NEVER SEEN ANYONE TALK ABOUT IT EVER." I found it really deceptive, manipulative, and insulting to my intelligence.

My half-sister LOVED this band when they were big. I believe she was 10 years old at the time... Also, since this band is from your home state, what feeling does such a fact give you?

Disturbing content - 3

OK now I am interested. How does a 90s show on a real-world band have disturbing content?

You want something WAY worse than that show, try Grojband! That 2013 show's WAY beyond worse than this and the other two made in the 90s generation.

What was it with the early 90's and trying to give these bands their own cartoons? The Beatles got their own cartoon in the sixties and it was terrible, sure you can argue the standards were different back then but even so it's not hard to see why Beatles fans don't seem to bother acknowledging its existence. If The Beatles of all bands couldn't make a good cartoon, why did any other band think they'd somehow be different?

That was a cartoon based on a rock band? I know they had a song in each episode and tried to do different genres each time, but I don't really know much about it besides that. I thought it was good, especially considering what was coming out of Cartoon Network at the time.

Their initial run actually went from 1984 to 1994.  To be fair, they didn't release their first album until 1986, didn't get popular until 1988, and their last initial run top 40 hit came in 1992.

As bad as the show might've been, I still get a nostalgic chill whenever I look at that screencap.

The colorful backdrop, the Burger King-style kids, the trendy accessories, the obvious VHS-recorded quality, etc.

The only ones I can think of are Josie and the pussycats; the original Scooby-Doo if you want to count that (aired 1969); Wait Til Your Father Gets Home; Schoolhouse Rock; and Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids. I can't think of any others though.
